Tiga CEO on Higher Education

Develop Magazine have the first interview with new Tiga CEO Richard Wilson up at the moment. In the first part published yesterday he covered tax breaks and international competition. More interesting to us is today’s feature that focuses on skills.

Richard has an interesting point of view as someone from outside the sector - recoginising the ‘classic trade association stuff’ needed to enable knowldege transfer amongst the membership.

He’s also pretty enlightened on the subject of graduates, recognising that constant criticism of courses will get us nowhere:

The key is not to grumble, but work out how we can improve qualifications, and pass on best practices to the universities themselves.

He also recognises that dissatisfaction with graduates is not the sole preserve of the games industry!
