Yes – see earlier posts for background – but I am please to announce that we now have a fledgling group of industry leaders that will help shape Skillset’s work, help steer collaborative action, and be beacons in the industry for skills. Excellent news! They are:
- Adrian Bleasdale, ITV
- Antony Hunt, Cinesite
- Bryn Roberts, Barcud Derwen
- Dave Peto, Unit
- Joce Capper, Rushes
- Mike Kelt, Artem
- Mike Smith, Alias Smith and Sing
- Rachel Dudley, Blue
- Simon Frodsham, Independent Post Co
- Simon Kanjee, Evolutions
- Terry Smith, Silverglade
Thanks to them – and the 50 or so other industry professionals who put their hands up – and more from the work of the forum anon, I am sure!
It seems a shame that Skillset have missed out on promoting facilities outside of London, the majority (all but two) of the council members are all London based and don’t really reflect the business and skills around the country. There is life outside of soho.
Actually more than two of the members are outside Soho – Bryn and Adrian perhaps the most obvious, but Elstree is in the East of England, Artem have a Scottish branch, and Cinesite have presence in the South East of England at Pinewood. But your point is taken, and next week, at the first Facilities Skills Council meeting the very first item on the agenda will be to discuss if we have gaps – of any description – in memberships. I will make sure your comment is discussed.
