Jo is a Partnership Manager at Skillset with a particular focus on Radio, issues surrounding diversity and the Midlands region of England where she is based, in Nottingham. Jo is also a member of Skillset’s Diversity Champions Group and the Chair of our LGB and T employee network group, POWWA (Part of who we are).
Previously Jo was responsible for Skillset’s Sector Compact, which supported the delivery of Train to Gain funded training within the sector, which included diagnosing skills needs and signposting to tailored leadership and management training, qualifications and apprenticeships. This work involved engaging with employers and freelancers to improve their access to and take up of training. In previous lives, Jo worked for EM Media as a training manager, taught in adult community education, ran housing projects for women and children escaping domestic abuse and worked in theatre and community video.
