Media skills for media people

Triston Wallace

Triston Wallace looks after the London region for Skillset, the Sector Skills Council for the Creative Media Industries (broadcast, film, video, computer games, animation, interactive media and photo imaging). Jointly funded by industry and government, their job is to make sure that the UK audio visual industries have the right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time, so that the audio visual industries remain competitive.

Working with the Mayor’s Office, the London Development Agency, the Learning and Skills Council, training providers and many other key stakeholders, his London responsibilities include ensuring that the skills needs of the audio visual industry in London are articulated. He also represents Skillset in all matters relating to the 2012 Olympic skills needs in our industry.

Prior to working at Skillset, Triston looked after the BBC Post Production traineeship in London, Birmingham and Bristol, and was responsible for overseeing the training of 120 BBC Resources staff.
